Some Upcoming Pocono Mountain Events!

Pocono Festivities are running wild throughout the mountain this winter season. Many of our Resorts, Communities, and Towns hold many different events for its residents to enjoy the winter season to the fullest. Winter time is prime time in the Pocono Mountains whether its Skiing, Snowboarding, Tubing, Sledding, Icefishing, Iceskating, and some simple winter time festivities. There is something for everyone here in the Poconos. One of our corner stone towns known as Stroudsburg Pa ( home to the Sherman Theater), celebrates winter in many ways. Downtown Stroudsburg will be hosting the Fourth Annual Ice Festival during Presidents' Weekend. There will be a live ice carving demonstration of a five-block larger than life throne on the corner of 7th and Main Street. There will be amazing three dimensional ice sculptures displayed throughout Downtown Stroudsburg in front of many of the great stores. Enjoy hot cocoa or hot apple cider at Sarah's Corner Cafe.

 

Another fun festivity coming on March 3rd, 2013 is the 11th annual Chili and Wing Cook off! A perfect event for those food lovers who love to eat and have a good time. Sponsored by the Pocono Lake Region Chamber of Commerce. Taste, judge, and vote for your favorite wings and chili. Businesses or individuals are welcome to enter free of charge. Enjoy live entertainment provided by Emerald Entertainment and Abbey Road.

Pocono Mountain Winter Festivities!

Here in the Pocono Mountains we have an abundance of Fun Festivities all year long for all of the tourists and the full time Poconoans. Here is a list of some fun filled Pocono Mountain Events that are going to be taking place this winter all across the Mountain!

 

Down in the tiny town of Milford PA there is a free admission to the Winter Lights Festival which is holding it's final weekend of festivities 2/1/13 and 2/2/13. Nestled within the historic and charming village of Milford, a mystical luminance of a winter's light will fill the air. During the Winter Lights Festival, the town will be aglow with ice presentations, dance ensembles, mac and cheese contest, puppeteer and much more. The festival is free of charge. The closing ceremony will feature local champion Jordan Hartey. Donations are accepted and will go toward next years festival.

 

Many events happen in one of the Pocono Mountain'smost historic and popular towns Jim Thorpe Pa all year round. Jim Thorpe Winterfest happens the weekend of 2/16/13 and 2/17/13. A mix of family-friendly activities, special shopping and dining promotions, and Opera House performances mark a weekend of winter fun this Presidents' Day weekend. The festival will also feature ice and wood carvers, the Jim Thorpe Chamber of Commerce fundraiser Mug Walk, live strolling music up and down Broadway and much more.

Some Fun Events At Big Boulder & Jack Frost Mountain!

Here in the Pocono Mountains of Northeastern Pennsylvania we have some of the funnest Resorts that you could find. Winter time in the Poconos means Skiing, Snowboarding, Tubing, Ice Fishing,and many other Winter Sports that brings the crowds from all over the country to our Beautiful little spot on this Mountain in the Northeast. Jack Frost Mountain & Big Boulder Resort are two of our most visited Resorts in the Poconos! It is truly a Winter Wonderland. Here are some fun events coming up at Jack Frost and Big Boulder!

Live Entertainment at the T Bar in Big Boulder throughout the month of February 2013. Many fun acts including UUU, Mother Nature's Sons, YMI, Pair of Nuts, Goodman Fiske, and UUU Duo.

 

Big Boulder Park will be throwing a Wing Bowl. They are partaking in the Wing Bowl of Philadelphia on February 1st, 2013. That's this Friday!

 

Race Day at Jack Frost will be racing against other areas on February 9th, 2013.

 

Many fun events are still on the way all winter long at Big Boulder & Jack Frost and all of your favorite Pocono Resorts. It's warm today, but that won't last long. There is more snow in the forecast for this week. Winter is still here and strong in the Pocono Mountains!

Tattoo Convention At The Sherman Theater In Stroudsburg!

In downtown Stroudsburg there is the legendary Sherman Theater. It is located just downtown on Main Street which runs through the Pocono Mountain Town of Stroudsburg. The Sherman Theater is known to bring in some great music and bands, and they also have their very own Festivities including art shows, holiday festivities, and many other celebrations. On the weekend of January 25th, 2013 through January 27th, 2013, The Sherman Theater brings all the tattoo and piercing fans to The Rock N Ink Expo. The Sherman Theater Rock N Ink Expo presented by Inkwitch Tattoo is a three-day tattoo and piercing convention for the alternative minded and otherwise, piecing together multiple attractions fit into an entire weekend. Set to feature over two dozen tattoo artists and piercers as well as various vendors. Rock N Ink features some of the regions and the world’s finest artist as they tattoo and pierce people live each day. Each day will feature various events during the course of the expo. There will be live bands, tattoo contests, tattooed beauty pageant and more.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Some Fun Pocono Winter Events

Here in the Pocono Mountains we have an abundance of Fun Festivities all year long for all of the tourists and the full time Poconoans. Here is a list of some fun filled Pocono Mountain Events that are going to be taking place this winter all across the Mountain!

Pocono Winter Festivities At Masthope Mountain

We are known for many things here in the Beautiful Pocono Mountains, but Skiing, Snowboarding, Tubing, and winter time fun seems to be everyone's personal favorite when it comes to Pocono Living. The Pocono Ski Resorts host many different Winter Sports Fun Festivities all winter long! A very fun part of celebrating Ski Season in the Pocono Mountains is the Pocono Favorite Winter Carnival at Big Bear on Masthope Mountain in Pike County. All kinds of winter fun is to be had! Hit the snow for a fun day filled with ski races, big air competition, rail jams, an all day scavenger hunt and lunch tray races. Head to the rental shop for a free wax and sharpen; or visit the lodge for raffles, live entertainment, and more. The event will be held from 9am-4:30pm. The Rail Jams will begin at 1pm and there is a $5 entrance free. The Race Program will be held from 2-4pm. This event is still quite awhile away taking place on January 27th, 2013, but it is not too far away to start planning to attend this Winter Time Favorite in the Pocono Mountains!

We're feeling a real break in the weather up here, and that leads me to believe that Ski Season is right around the corner in the Poconos! We are known for many things here in the Beautiful Pocono Mountains, but Skiing, Snowboarding, Tubing, and winter time fun seems to be everyone's personal favorite when it comes to Pocono Living. The Pocono Ski Resorts host many different Winter Sports Fun Festivities all winter long!

Holiday Cheer at Pocono Manor

Holiday Celebrations are part of the going ons here in the Poconos like Christmas Tree Lightings, Parades, Concerts, Holiday Dinner, and many other celebrations at your favorite Pocono Resorts and Pocono Attractions! The Holiday Season is already amongst us so let the festivities begin! Every Friday and Saturday from December 1st to the 22nd The Inn at Pocono Manor holds the Magical Fireside Christmas. It's time again for a little magic on the mountains! Feel the magic of Christmas and awaken your senses with the sweet smell of roasting marshmallows, warmth of the fire and spectacular display of lights adorning the grounds and buildings. Enjoy live animal displays, horse drawn carriage and train rides, story-telling, visit with Santa and more. The cost is $5 per person; admission includes the free activities and five activity tickets for optional activities. Additional activity tickets are available for purchase. A Festival Of Lights in the Pocono Mountains

Enjoy lighting up the holiday season at Phifer Ice Dam Park in Lehighton Pennsylvania. A Very family friendly event that shines the lights on the holiday season here in the Pocono Mountains. We call this the Festival Of Lights! During the Festival of Lights, the Phifer Ice dam Park takes on a magical holiday glow with more than 400,000 lights in a giant outdoor walk-through display as the sounds of the season are heard throughout the park. Santa will appear at the festival nightly up until Christmas. The cost is $4 for adults and $2 children 4-12 years. Children under 4 are free. The festival will be held from 5-9pm.

Pocono Holiday Festivities.

The Holiday Season is approaching us, and it will be here before we know it. Here in the Pocono Mountains many people come here with their families to celebrate the holidays in their cozy Mountain Homes, and to get away from the hustle of the big city. In our quiet Pocono Towns we like to put the Holidays first every year. There are many Holiday Celebrations are part of the going ons here in the Poconos like Christmas Tree Lightings, Parades, Concerts, Holiday Dinner, and many other celebrations at your favorite Pocono Resorts and Pocono Attractions!

Take it way back in time in this traditional Holiday Celebration in the Pocono Mountains at Quiet Valley's Historical Farm known as Old Time Christmas. Enjoy Christmas in the 1800s! Guides dressed in period clothing lead you by lantern light through the historic buildings and displays. Enjoy storytelling, Christmas Putz, Victorian skit, live Nativity, caroling, Belschnikel visit, gift shop, and much more. Hours are 3:30-7pm. Groups of 12 or more, by reservation only, from 2:30-3:30pm and can receive $1 off. Rain or shine. Annual Old Time Christmas will continue December 8-9, 2012.

Down in in Stroudsburg we get the Christmas Spirit going in November with the Pocono Famous Christmas Tree Lighting!Get into the holiday spirit at the Annual Tree Lighting in Courthouse Square. Festivities will begin with traditional Christmas carols, followed by the lighting of the tree by the Mayor of Stroudsburg. A Holiday Tradition in Stroudsburg!

Come celebrate this traditional Pocono Mountain Holiday Festivity at one of the most fun filled Pocono Resorts of them all the Stroudsmoor Country Inn. This Resort sponsors everything from Holiday Events to Weddings! This December 2nd, 2012, The Stroudsmoor invites you to continue the Holday Tradition of the Tree Lighting Celebration. The Tree Lighting Celebration includes an art show, holiday craft boutique, elaborate gingerbread village, a lighting display, carriage rides, petting zoo, live nativity, and fabulous fireworks, all free for guests to enjoy during the celebration. Each year Stroudsmoor adds something new to the festivities – “Toyland at Terraview” sponsoring the US Marines “Toys for Tots” program. The festivities will begin at 10am and last until 8pm. Hot Shows Storming into the Poconos!

The Pocono Mountains is certainly known for its Skiing, Fall Foliage, Lakes, Hunting, Fishing, and many other things. One of the things the Poconos also has is a very active nightlife with entertainment spreading all across the mountain! Entertainment comes from Pocono Resorts such as Split Rock or Mount Air Casino, or from concert events held at the Poconos very own Sherman Theater or Penns Peak! Here's a list of some fun concert events making their way to the Poconos this Holiday Season!

 

-The worldwide 10 million album selling country music legends known as Lonestar are making their way to Penns Peak in Jim Thorpe Pa Friday November 16th, 2012 at 8 PM.

-Continuing the Thanksgiving Eve Tradition the Dark Star Orchestra is also making their way to Penns Peak in Jim Thorpe Pa on Wednesday November 21st, 2012 at 8 PM. Dark Star Orchestra is a Grateful Dead cover band.

-Coming back to Penns Peak in Jim Thorpe is the legendary classic rock band Blue Oyster Cult. Listed on VH1 as one of the greatest rock bands of all time, they grace Penns Peak Friday December 7th, 2012 at 8PM.

- A true metal mayhem concert storming through Stroudsburg Pa at the Sherman Theater on Main Street featuring heavy metal favorites Lamb of God, In Flames, Hatebreed, and Sylosis on November 14th, 2012.

- One of the most influential heavy metal bands of all time are coming to The Sherman Theater in Stroudsburg. Megadeath! Speed and Thrash Metal Kings make their way to the Sherman Theater November 19th, 2012

- For the indie pop rock fans of the Pocono Mountains, Never Shout Never is making their way to the Sherman Theater in Stroudsburg this Holiday Season on Friday November 30th, 2012 at 8 PM.

The Classic Beer Festival at Split Rock Resort!

Here in the Pocono Mountains Fall has arrived. It is without a doubt Fall Foliage season. The weather is already beginning to break with cool fall nights with sunny and windy days. A fun filled 2012 Summer is in the past so put the bikes, boats, and sandy beach gear away and get your fireplaces roaring, get ready for the festivities and holidays, and get ready for football season. Fall time brings a lot of Beautiful views and Festivals to the great Pocono Mountains. Fall is the season also leading into one of the biggest times of the year for the Poconos which is Ski and Snowboarding season at some of your favorite Pocono Resorts such as Big Boulder & Jack Frost , Camelback Mountain, and Shawnee Mountain.

The Beer Festival at Split Rock Resort is certainly a Pocono Favorite in Fall Foliage. This Festivity is a little further down the road, but that just gives you plenty of time to plan your trip! This one is for all the beer lovers! Split Rock holds its annual Beer Festival every Fall Season. The two day indoor festival will be held on Saturday November 17th and Sunday November 18th 2012 from Noon to 4PM. It will be located inside The Galleria at Split Rock Resort. It features musical entertainment on two different stages, over 30 of the country's finest breweries, and a wide selection of food and craft vendors. It also includes a delicious Beer Festival Dinner held on Saturday night. Tickets can be purchased on in advance or on the day of the Festival, and you are able to purchase tickets for both days of The Beer Festival. Each ticket to The Split Rock Beer Festival includes a commemorative beer tasting glass, tastings from all breweries in attendance, admission to all seminars, musical entertainment, and access to many different food and craft vendors. Split Rock also offers weekend packages for attendees wishing to stay over night.
