Pocono Mountain Winter Festivities!

Here in the Pocono Mountains we have an abundance of Fun Festivities all year long for all of the tourists and the full time Poconoans. Here is a list of some fun filled Pocono Mountain Events that are going to be taking place this winter all across the Mountain!

 

Down in the tiny town of Milford PA there is a free admission to the Winter Lights Festival which is holding it's final weekend of festivities 2/1/13 and 2/2/13. Nestled within the historic and charming village of Milford, a mystical luminance of a winter's light will fill the air. During the Winter Lights Festival, the town will be aglow with ice presentations, dance ensembles, mac and cheese contest, puppeteer and much more. The festival is free of charge. The closing ceremony will feature local champion Jordan Hartey. Donations are accepted and will go toward next years festival.

 

Many events happen in one of the Pocono Mountain'smost historic and popular towns Jim Thorpe Pa all year round. Jim Thorpe Winterfest happens the weekend of 2/16/13 and 2/17/13. A mix of family-friendly activities, special shopping and dining promotions, and Opera House performances mark a weekend of winter fun this Presidents' Day weekend. The festival will also feature ice and wood carvers, the Jim Thorpe Chamber of Commerce fundraiser Mug Walk, live strolling music up and down Broadway and much more.

Some Fun Pocono Winter Events

Hot Shows Storming into the Poconos!

The Pocono Mountains is certainly known for its Skiing, Fall Foliage, Lakes, Hunting, Fishing, and many other things. One of the things the Poconos also has is a very active nightlife with entertainment spreading all across the mountain! Entertainment comes from Pocono Resorts such as Split Rock or Mount Air Casino, or from concert events held at the Poconos very own Sherman Theater or Penns Peak! Here's a list of some fun concert events making their way to the Poconos this Holiday Season!

 

-The worldwide 10 million album selling country music legends known as Lonestar are making their way to Penns Peak in Jim Thorpe Pa Friday November 16th, 2012 at 8 PM.

-Continuing the Thanksgiving Eve Tradition the Dark Star Orchestra is also making their way to Penns Peak in Jim Thorpe Pa on Wednesday November 21st, 2012 at 8 PM. Dark Star Orchestra is a Grateful Dead cover band.

-Coming back to Penns Peak in Jim Thorpe is the legendary classic rock band Blue Oyster Cult. Listed on VH1 as one of the greatest rock bands of all time, they grace Penns Peak Friday December 7th, 2012 at 8PM.

- A true metal mayhem concert storming through Stroudsburg Pa at the Sherman Theater on Main Street featuring heavy metal favorites Lamb of God, In Flames, Hatebreed, and Sylosis on November 14th, 2012.

- One of the most influential heavy metal bands of all time are coming to The Sherman Theater in Stroudsburg. Megadeath! Speed and Thrash Metal Kings make their way to the Sherman Theater November 19th, 2012

Holiday Celebration in Jim Thorpe

In the Pocono Mountains we try to cherish every second of every season. Being a 4 Season Region, The Pocono Mountains celebrates all holidays and festivities perfectly, and not a single day goes by where there aren't some festivities, celebrations, or Pocono Resort Specials happening in celebration of a Pocono Tradition. Is it ever to early to get ready for the Holiday Season? Christmas in the Poconos is 2 months away, but that 2 months flies by! Everyone agrees that getting ready for Christmas starts in October as it is. There are certainly some Christmas and Holiday Celebrations going on this 2012 Holiday Season.

Jim Thorpe Pa is one of the more historic towns in the Pocono Mountains. It is also one of the hot spots for Pocono Festivities and Holiday Celebrations. In Downtown Jim Thorpe, the Celebrating of Olde Time Christmas begins December 1st and 2nd and then December 8th and 9th. Christmas is a special time of year in Jim Thorpe, and so the town will celebrate with the 2012 Jim Thorpe Olde Time Christmas Celebration. The celebration will included train rides with Santa, a live Nativity, Historic District Ghost Walks, Olde Time Christmas Arts Bazaar, gingerbread house contest, strolling carolers and musicians, expanded shopping hours, and seasonal dinner specials. If that is not enough, ticketed entertainment will take place each Saturday night of the Olde Time Christmas at the Mauch Chunk Opera House. Tons of Fun in the Northeast This Fall

The Traditional Holiday Extravaganza that always makes its way through the Northeast is coming back once again this Holiday Season! Trans - Siberian Orchestra are coming to the Northeast like they do every Holiday Season to gives their electric lightshow , rock n roll mixed with Christmas music, and a holiday season cheer. They've been coming to Mohegan Sun Arena in Wilkes Barre for years now, and it is a show you do not want to miss!
