The Lehigh River Sojourn is an educational Whitewater Rafting, Canoeing, and Kayaking trip down the Lehigh River. This is a long and fun trip and all are welcome. All participants have the option of registering for one of multiple days. This trip will stretch all the way from The Lehigh Gorge to the Calming Waters in Northampton. Fees include all of the following for each day registered - Campsite, Shuttle Service, Delicious Meals, Education Programs, and Entertainment. There's nothing better then having a fun filled trip down the river! It's especially a great trip when all proceeds go to a great cause. Proceeds for the Lehigh River Sojourn will go to Wildlands Conservancy. The first day of the adventure will be held at Mauch Chunk Lake Park. A BIG Pocono State Park!

Big Pocono State Park is a Wonderful State Park in the Pocono Mountains that offers recreational activities, scenic views, wildlife sitings, and much more! You may see whitetail deer, wild birds, and maybe a bear or two. Get your cameras ready at Big Pocono! The park consists of 1,306 acres of rugged terrain on the summit and slopes of Camelback Mountain. From the summit, all Big Pocono State Park visitors enjoy a spectacular view of a vast portion of the Pennsylvania Pocono Mountains and portions of New York and New Jersey. The park is open from sunrise to sunset. Catch a sunset over the Beautiful Wilderness of the Pocono Mountains.

There are 3 picnic areas with plenty of tables and grills for a great Pocono Cookout. About 800 acres are open for hunting. Unless hunting is in season, hunters are required to keep firearms in their vehicles for the safety of the park visitors. There is even a chance to dine out in the wild at Cameltop Restaurant. Operated by Camelback Ski Area, the restaurant may be reached by the park road or by ascending the mountain on the ski area chair lift and is open daily to Memorial day to Columbus Day. Horseback riding, Mountain Biking, and Hiking are all Recreational Features of the Big Pocono State Park! Who's joining in the race at the tippy top of the Poconos?!

Come Enjoy The Beauty at Bushkill Falls This Summer!

There are no real Waterfalls right along the Delaware River, but along the Tributaries of the Delaware River in The Great and Beautiful Pocono Mountains of Northeastern Pennsylvania there are many Marvelous Waterfalls. Bushkill Falls is a very popular Destination for Tourists staying at the Grand Hotels and Resorts in the Poconos.

Fulmer Falls drops 55 feet along Dingmans Creek in the George W Childs Recreation Site in the Pocono Mountains, and it is located just upstream from Dear Leap Falls and just downstream from Factory Falls.

Silverthread Falls is a really Beautiful Waterfall that drops 80 Feet along a tributary of Dingmans Creek near Dingmans Falls in the Pocono Mountains. Silverthread Falls can be seen from a Boardwalk that leads to Dingman Falls from the Visitor Center.

The Great Outdoors in the Poconos!

Come and enjoy yourself at The Francis E Walter Dam! This is a Park located in Lake Harmony in the Northeastern Region of Pennsylvania known as the Pocono Mountains. Take a walk through and breathe in the Fresh Mountain Air from the Lehigh River and the surrounding Trees and wildlife. There is An 1,800-acre project, with a small 80-acre reservoir but no Corps-operated recreation facilities. There is a boat launch area (no ramp), and there is a 10 hp limit. Picnicking, hiking and fishing are available, as is hunting, in season, on adjacent Pennsylvania Game Commission lands.

 

The Lehigh Gorge State Park awaits all of the Pocono Mountain Travellers! This park goes a little unnoticed in the Poconos. You may find yourself hiking or biking through the trails and stumble upon all kinds of wildlife and natural beauty.There is Spectacular Scenery all across the Gorge.The 25 Mile downhill grade from White Haven to Jim Thorpe makes the Trail popular with cyclists who use various ways from the Jim Thorpe area to reach the White Haven trail for an easy downhill pedal.

A Pocono State Park Trail Run!

Welcome to the Pocono State Park at Tannersville Pa , in the lovely Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania to all the outdoor enthusiasts. The first race in the Pocono Xterra Series takes place at Big Pocono State Park. This race will cover three miles of rugged rocky trail with spectacular views. Looking over the top of Big Pocono State Park you can see the Beautiful site of the Ski Trails at Camelback Ski Resort & Water Park. Anyone can enter this race! The cost is 20$ by mail and 25$ on the day of the event. The race will take place on Saturday May 5th, 2012 at 10 AM.

A Pocono Outdoor Challenge!

The Deleware Watergap is a great place to be when the sun is shining, and the river is flowing providing all the outdoor enthusiasts in the lovely Pocono Mountains a chance to test their endurance, experience the outdoors, and have a great time! This Pocono Challenge is for those who get their satisfaction and enjoyment from being out in nature, and putting all they have into their obstacle. Teams as well as individual competitors will certainly experience the Pocono Mountains at its purest form. The Pocono Challenge is a half day adventure race that will give experienced competitors the chance to enjoy mountain biking, canoeing, or jogging and treking with friends and family. This Pocono Event is not only for the most experienced, but it is also for those looking to just have a great time. Maps are provided. This race consists of a 14.5 mile mountain bike ride along the Mcdade Trail to begin with. The second part will be a 10 mile paddle down the Beautiful Deleware River. Equipment including Kayaks and Canoes will be provided for the competitors. Finally, the challenge ends with a 3 mile trek or jog ending at Smithfield Beach. The initial cost per person is 95$. For your money you get to experience the most down to earth and fun side of the Pocono Mountains! Also included is a Tshirt, Finisher Medal, The Use of Kayak or Canoe, Paddle, and Personal Flotation Device. Lunch will be provided by the chefs from The Shawnee Inn!
